Frequently asked questions

How does YELLOW.bot work?

YELLOW.bot is a verified registry of businesses and restaurants. You can search by name or category, browse on a map, scan a menu to extract dishes and prices, or ask a natural-language question. Data is continuously refreshed and every listing has a trust score and last-update timestamp.

Do I need an account?

No — basic search and browsing is anonymous and free. You only need an account if you want programmatic API access at higher rate limits.

Is YELLOW.bot free?

The app and public search are free. For developers, the Free API tier (100 requests/hour, 1000/day) is also free. Verified and Premium tiers are available for higher volume; see the API docs for pricing.

Where does your data come from?

Public business directories and supplier registries (Alibaba showroom, Made-in-China, IndiaMART, GLEIF, Wikidata, Common Crawl, OpenStreetMap), aggregated and de-duplicated — plus direct business submissions from owners. Every listing shows its source and a "last seen" timestamp.

How can I claim, correct, or delete my business listing?

Email [email protected] with the provider_id (visible in the app detail view) and what needs to change. We verify and act within 5 business days. Owners can claim verified status by responding from the listed business domain.

I'm a developer — how do I integrate?

We expose three programmatic interfaces:

What are the API rate limits?

Exceeding limits returns HTTP 429. Use exponential back-off; unauthorized bulk extraction will result in immediate key revocation.

Is my data private?

We do not track, profile, or sell data. There are no third-party analytics SDKs in the app and no advertising or cross-app tracking. See the full Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Email [email protected] with "GDPR deletion request" and the email associated with your account (if any). We confirm deletion within 30 days. For a simple business listing removal, include the provider_id.

Menu scan did not work on my menu — why?

Try brighter, even lighting and a straight-on angle. Handwritten menus, reflective laminated sheets, and very stylized typography are the hardest cases. If it consistently fails, email us a photo of the menu and we will investigate.

The location sort is showing wrong distances — why?

YELLOW.bot uses coarse (kilometer-level) location only. If you just enabled the permission, give it a few seconds. If you are on Wi-Fi, iOS location can be less accurate than on cellular GPS — consider moving outside.

Can I use YELLOW.bot data in my own product?

Within the limits of our Terms of Service, yes — for display inside your product, analytics, and research. You may not republish the raw registry as a competing directory, nor use the data to train a model that duplicates our service.
